The SCG Process

SCG can work with you on any phase of your design project, from Research at the beginning of your project all the way through Follow-up after product release. The project design process pictured here can be used in conjuntion with any project management style. We provide a deliverable for each phase to help you communicate the design process to your team and as a method of documenting the project. SCG's service offerings of UI Design, Usability Testing and Evaluation will help fill all your usability needs.

Usability Group Startup

Sometimes companies understand the need for incorporating usability into their products but they are unsure how to get started. SCG has experience in both working with companies on a project basis to get the process going, and in helping companies start to build their own usability departments.

User Interface (UI) Design

The UI Design service typically starts in the research phase and runs through the Implementation phase. We also will perform the Usability Test near the end of your project. We can even help with the follow-up phase by monitoring the net logs, tracking calls to the help desk and competitive usability tests.

If you only need help with one of the phases of the UI Design Process, we can offer expert time in any phase as your needs require.

Usability Testing

SCG has done usability tests on a wide variety of software including main frame, client server, internet and intranet. We've done these tests across the US and in Europe.

Usability Testing is the ultimate indicator for determining if your product will be usable once it is released.

Evaluation

Evaluations of your product are a quick way to take the pulse of the product to determine if it has any major usability problems.

Evaluations (sometimes called Heuristic Evaluations because the product is evaluated against a specific set of industry standard criteria) are usually done by two or more specialists.
